Welcome to Hotel Posada Del Cortez

Hotel Posada Del Cortez offers travelers a solid, no-frills option in the heart of La Paz, Mexico. With a respectable rating of 4.1, it stands out for its prime location on 16 de Septiembre Street, placing guests just a short stroll from the bustling Malecon and the Aguila bus terminal. This makes it a natural choice for visitors looking to explore downtown La Paz with ease.

The accommodations are simple yet clean and comfortable. Many guests appreciate the spacious rooms and the reliable presence of hot water—a small but vital comfort. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, though the thick concrete walls may slightly hinder connectivity in some rooms. Air conditioning is standard, ensuring guests stay cool in the warm Baja California Sur climate. While there is no onsite restaurant or fitness center, the hotel makes up for it by being a convenient base for sightseeing, recreation, and getting around the vibrant city.

One of the hotel’s standout features is its friendly, Spanish-speaking staff who strive to make guests feel at home, despite occasional language barriers. Visitors like Sean Shealy have shared that the welcoming atmosphere can quickly feel familiar and inviting. However, potential guests should be aware of some noise issues, which can affect light sleepers. Additionally, the shower system receives mixed reviews for low water pressure and inconsistent temperature.

Value-wise, Hotel Posada Del Cortez is hard to beat. It offers clean, secure rooms and practical amenities that meet basic needs without unnecessary extras. Parking is available for those traveling by car, enhancing convenience. Although some guests find the pricing slightly on the higher side, the overall experience justifies the cost given its centrality and ease of access.

In summary, Hotel Posada Del Cortez embodies the spirit of La Paz with its strategic location and simple comforts. It suits travelers who prioritize accessibility and a clean, safe place to rest over luxury amenities. For those eager to immerse themselves in the local culture and explore the scenic Baja coastline, this hotel presents a trustworthy home base.

Great location, a short walk away from the Aguila bus terminal and the malecón in downtown La Paz. Facilities were very basic but clean. Good value for money. Staff were pleasant though only conversant in Spanish. I appreciate that there was drinkable water provided near the reception too. The WiFi works decently well in our second-floor room as well.

I stayed three nights. After I left I thought about stopping back by just to say 'hi', even though I hadn't chatted with staff due to the language barrier. It had begun to feel like home anyway, lol. Four stars are good. Missing one for the noise they can't control, but I thought I should be honest about that. Light sleepers beware. Shower is also terribly weak and tepid. But ... location, location, location! And staff and authenticity are amazing!

Room was clean. Hotel felt relatively secure. It was close to the Malecon. We’d stay there again.

I had to stay here because there was not other options. Rooms are great and big. A bit on the expensive side. Wifi is not the greatest in the rooms, because of thick concrete walls.
